Music Appreciation Talks at Jean Lyons School of Music, for adults interested in learning about Classical Music

Indulge your curiosity and enhance your concert-going experience with presentations designed as an introduction to some of the most beloved and important composers and their works. Learn about their fascinating lives, inspirations, loves, struggles and triumphs. Explore the differences between music of the Baroque, Classical, Romantic and Modern eras as music evolves through the ages.

Series I 1:15-2:45pm on Tuesdays from Oct 3-Nov 21, 2017

• Composers include Bach, Mozart, and Beethoven

•Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5 will be one of the pieces discussed in detail. This work will be performed by the VSO on November 11.

Series II 1:15-2:45pm on Tuesdays from Jan 9-Feb 27, 2018

•Composers include Berlioz, Liszt, Debussy and Stravinsky

•Berlioz’s Symphonie fantastique will be one of the pieces discussed in detail. This work will be performed by the VSO on January 27.
